Now that we are comfy and have a hot cup of coffee and tea, let me first tell you a little about what this site is all about. I HAVE NO IDEA! lol... at first it was just a thought to show off some of the things I have made, as well as some things that others have made. Oh my goodness! I have seen some very very beautiful Quilts and other things besides Quilts.  Then I asked my oldest daughter Melisa, if she would like to put her Cards and Scrapbooking things on here.  She takes On-line college classes, so she has a little spare time and in that time, she makes handmade cards and scrapbooking pages and handmade embellishments.

So, this site will show off some of the things we have made, some things we would love to make, Handmade Cards and Handmade Scrapbooking items. I will also put up some great links. And we will share our forum with you. This way, others can show off their work as well.  And remember, I'M STILL A NEWBIE! hehe

Well, first, my name is Tess Myers . I’m a mommy, wife, nana and grandma (grandma to our youngest daughters dog, shuuuuu, he thinks he’s a boy...lol). I am also a VERY PROUD Air Force Mom. I drive a school bus if ya can believe that! And I'm also a newbie to the Quilting world, just about 2 years now. I got into quilting by accident believe it or not...lol. I had gone to the community center not to far from my home. I was looking for classes on something totally different; I can't even remember what now. Anyway, I saw a flyer for the "Vegas Quiltin’ Bee's" so I took it home and showed my hubby. I looked at him and said "I'm too young to do quilting lol" thinking back to all the grandmothers that did quilting. I just wanted to get back into sewing again. Well, hubby said I should go and see what’s up and give it a try. So, I went to the next meeting. And boy did I get hooked! HOOK, LINE and SINKER too! I had an awesome time. The gals in the class are all sooooo much fun! Every meeting we work on new projects. We are always making things that keep our minds working on " what else can I do with this project," We also do alot of "giving" work. I also found out you are never to young to quilt. Shuuuuu, we can keep that our little secret right? Well, I have jumped on the crazy quiltin’ bus and have been enjoying it ever since.

And by the way, quilting isn't always just working on quilts, we make so many types of different things for around our homes, things that we can use to tote out things in when back and forth from classes along with all kinds of other things. Keep checking back as I will be adding a page from our classes.

John (my hubby) has even taken an interest in my quilting. And in fact, has even built me a "quiltin cottage" . I'll show you pics of that if  you look under " My cottage ".. We ordered a Tuff Shed, and then they come out and put it together. Now this Tuff shed isn’t that big but it was my own little corner. I had to give our oldest son's room back so he had somewhere to sleep when he came home. (He only comes once or twice a year) But ok, I got my little cottage out back. After they put it all together, John, my hubby, went out and did all the electrical work to it so I could plug things in. I was very surprised, I thought I'd just run an extension cord out there! HAHA, after about 150 feet of wiring, yes you heard me right, he can fix any construction tool there is but he is NOT an electrician. But, hey! It’s done! Then, our youngest son and daughter helped us put in the Insulation. Then we dry walled it, painted it and walllllllllllllllaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! I have my very own Quiltin Cottage!!

I get alot of help from my youngest daughter Codi and  if I am working on a tote bag or a project and I'm stuck on something,I often bug her for advice. I'm glad she tends to know whats what in the " teen " world. It sure does help sometimes.

My oldest daughter Melisa shares this site with me and she would like to tell you a little bit about herself, too. So, while I'm passing out the muffins, we'll see what she has to say.

Hello! I'm Melisa. I'm glad to be able to share this site with my ma! We live on opposite sides of the United States, I'm on the East Coast and she is on the West Coast. So, this website is a great place for me to spend time and share things with her, and with you!
I started doing crafts with my ma when I was just a little girl, and I've grown to enjoy it now just as much as I did back then! My ma has taught me SO many things that give me so much inspiration. I started out decorating things like straw hats with lace and flowers, and then I moved on to sewing small things, and then onto cross-stitch.
About 10 years ago got upset with not being able to find greeting cards that had sentiments of what I wanted to say to people, so, I started to make my own! From there I started to make paper piecings and other paper crafts. Then, about 9 years ago I met a friend that was really big into scrapbooking. I was amazed at all the things she did with PAPER!! One day she invited me to a scrap-a-holic class at the community center and I went, and fell in love with all things scrapbooking. From the embellishments to the textured paper, and everything in between, I knew that scrapbooking was my calling! I have made about 25 scrapbooks total since then, but I'm always making handmade embellishments and other elements to work into scrapbooking.
I will be sharing some of my handmade items with you on this website, along with my scrapbooks and some of my digital scrapbooking items as well.  I'm not that big into quilting, mainly because I'm not as good at it as my ma, and I don't have anyone here to teach me, so for now, I hope you find my other crafts delightful.
Enjoy your stay here at our site!

This is a pic of myself and  our girls.
Melisa Marie is on your right and Codi Lynn is on your left.

This is at my 2nd marriage to my 1st husband. When they said 2nd time around is always best, they really did mean it.
We were very lucky to have been apart for over 15 years and then find outselfs together again.
2nd chance is really an awesome thing.
For those of you who happen to have someone in Iraq or anywhere else, we would like you to know that we have sent out the Angels to watch over them.

Our oldest son is serving his 5th tour in Iraq and we are all praying for his safe return. But... we are not stopping the Prayers there, we are still praying for everyone' s
Son's, Daughter's, Brother's, Sister's and
Mommy's and Daddy's who are over there.
We would ask you to please remember those who are still there or will be going back even if your's is home safely.

If we could all go back to the times when my grandparents were growing up, and everyone helped everyone, I truly think this world would be a much better place.

Our Hearts go out to those who have lost loved ones over there.

I will never forget the words our oldest son told me the last time he was there, and I was so worried about his safe return:

"Mom, if I do happen to die over here, just remember,
I did so doing what I truly loved,
Serving my Country"
